Luis Bañuelos is a professional photographer based in New York and with studios in both NYC and Mexico City.
He graduated with honors from Parsons School of Design New York and attended Fabrica the art center for intensive concepts created by Oliviero Toscani and Luciano Benetton in Treviso, Italy. The two medias Luis practices are moving imagery DOP and still photography. Luis shares his conceptual time between NYC and Mexico City.
Throughout the years Luis has assisted other reputable photographers, including Bruce Weber and Peter Arnell, who have refined Luis’ work ethic in the photo world of large budgets and immense production sessions. Also, he has freelanced with many magazines including i-D, Nylon, Colors, Trace, Terrace, Interview, Latina, and Balance. Clients include Donna Karan Collection, DooRi, Adidas, Snickers, Movistar, Charly, Ford, DKNY, DKNY Jeans, Mexx, Liz Claiborne, Claiborne, and Dana Buchman. These shared experiences have kept him in the heart and pulse of the industry. Sharing these moments of viewing light, capturing social graces of his surroundings and commenting on the social structure handed to us, as well as the ones we have constructed for ourselves, remain key elements in the subjects of Luis’ expressions.
